Women under 50 are the most stressed out as the holidays approach, with 61 percent saying their stress level is high or very high, according to the latest ‘Truth in Medicine’ poll of New York metro area residents. Stress increases across the board during the holidays, with 46 percent of those polled reporting high or very high levels of holiday-induced anxiety. Beginning Monday, November 25, the main entrance to Mount Sinai South Nassau Emergency Department (ED) on Nassau Parkway will be relocated to Oceanside Road during a four-month period of construction. The road to the current entrance on Nassau Parkway will be closed to ambulances and self-transported patients. A new name for a 90-year-old community institution critical to 900,000 residents of the South Shore has been approved. South Nassau Communities Hospital will now operate as Mount Sinai South Nassau to reflect the 455-bed hospital’s new partnership with the world-renowned Mount Sinai Health System.
